When people think of startups, they often imagine sleek offices, investor pitches, and teams of engineers huddled over laptops. Our story began somewhere very different— around a kitchen table, as a father and daughter talking about life, loss, and what it means to leave something behind.
In 2014, when flight MH370 disappeared, millions of families around the world were left in anguish. We were among them—watching, waiting, and wondering. I (Fa) kept asking myself one question: What if those on board had one last way to reach their loved ones? Not with bank codes or technical details, but with simple words: “I love you. Don't worry. Take care of each other.”
That question stayed with me for years. Having lived alone for a long time, I've always felt that quiet, unspoken longing to stay connected—even in small ways. I've spent more than two decades building software, but this wasn't about code—it was about people. And as time passed, we kept hearing stories of solo travelers who never returned, of families left searching for answers, of moments where silence was the hardest part.
Fast forward to my daughter Ming’s graduation day — under the banyan trees of her university in Southern China, diploma in hand, stepping into a world full of uncertainty: pandemics, risks, and the beautiful, terrifying unpredictability of life.
That afternoon, over iced tea and sticky rice cakes from the campus canteen, we decided to take that old question seriously — and began building what became KeepBridge — a small, simple, deeply human project to bridge the silence if life takes an unexpected turn.
At first we called it IIGM (“If I Go Missing”)—a name born from raw honesty, reflecting the very question that started it all. But as the project grew, we realized it was never just about “missing.” It was about love, preparedness, and dignity. That’s why we carry the promise forward today as KeepBridge.
This is just the beginning. We're building slowly, carefully, and with all the sincerity we have. If you've found your way here, thank you for being part of the journey. We hope KeepBridge brings you the same peace of mind it has brought us in building it.
